Construction Site Erosion Control and

Stormwater Management Ordinance

On June 17, 2003 the Winnebago County Board formally approved a Construction Site Erosion Control and Stormwater Management Ordinance.  The ordinance took effect starting on September 1, 2003.  The ordinance applies to activities associated with removing ground cover, excavating, driveway or road work, utility work and ditch maintenance.   Those involved with these land-disturbing activities should contact Winnebago County Zoning or Land & Water Conservation depending on the township.  (SEE BELOW)

If you're building a new home, you will need to get an Erosion Control Permit.
